Girl Scout Contests
Contest for Daisy, Brownie and
Junior Girl Scouts:
The tremendous destruction that resulted from hurricane Katrina in 2005 is a prime example of how natural disasters do not discriminate; they are merely directed by the forces of nature. The outpouring of support that has been given to the victims of the hurricanes demonstrates the importance of treating others with compassion and understanding not only during a crisis, but each and everyday.
CONTEST TOPIC
Imagine that someone has given you $20,000; the catch is that you can only use the money to help other people. Write an essay explaining how you would spend the money, why you would spend it that way, and what difference the money has made to those you have helped.
