The tremendous destruction that resulted from hurricane Katrina is a prime example of how natural disasters do not discriminate; they are merely directed by the forces of nature. The outpouring of support that had been given to the victims of the hurricanes demonstrates the importance of treating others with compassion and understanding not only during a crisis, but each and everyday.
