Optimist International Clubs have done a great job of spreading the message of Zink. We hope that other youth serving organizations will also join the fun! Below are a few ideas to help your Youth Group get started!

  • Westbank, LA sponsored the Zink Goes to Camp program for an outreach Girl Scout summer program. They not only purchased the camp package (zink stuffed animal, backpack and patch), they purchased Zink Goes to Camp t-shirts for all the girls!
  • Southside Kansas and Rancho Cordova, CA have both purchased large quantities of Zink the Zebra - A Special Tale books, Zink: the Myth the Legend, the Zebra novels and play videos as well as other Zink items. They distributed them to many different libraries and schools in their communities.
  • New Orleans, LA sponsored a Girl Scout Day of Compassion at Six Flags.Girl Scout councils from all over Louisiana and Mississippi attended. Each girl participating earned the Zink theZebra Compassion Patch Bar. Over 300 girls were in attendance!
  • Salina-Breakfast, KS purchased three Zink theZebra Pre-School programs for the Girl Scouts of Central Kansas to use with the Head Start centers in their community.
  • Slidell, LA hosted a Zink Fun Day at the Boys and Girls Club. A teen member wore the Zink costume while visiting with the children and they had a great time playing diversity games. The Optimists read the Zink book and offered a variety of activities like the M & M game.
  • If your Youth Group has helped spread the message of Zink, please let us know. We would love to shine the SPOTLIGHT on you too!

Listed above are just a few ways that your clubs can spread the message of  understanding, compassion, respect and acceptance! Please contact Patty McGrew if you would like more ideas - 865-584-0170 or zinkzebra@aol.com
